The Chapekar Brothers, also known as the Chapekar Bandhu, were three Indian brothers who played a significant role in the Indian independence movement during the late 19th century. The brothers were Damodar Hari Chapekar, Balkrishna Hari Chapekar, and Vasudeo Hari Chapekar. In 1897, the Chapekar Brothers were involved in the assassination of British colonial officer W.C. Rand, who was infamous for his oppressive policies against the Indian people. The assassination took place in Pune, India. The act was seen as a strong response to British oppression and tyranny.
